“We export 40% of what we make, and the raw materials are 100% Palestinian”

Chairman Fadl Al-Natsheh set out where NABOLY’s pairs go, and where the leather comes from, in an interview with Wattan News Agency.
The NABOLY stockroom in Hebron, cased and ready for dispatch

In November 2022 the chairman of NABOLY, Fadl Al-Natsheh, gave an interview to Wattan News Agency in Ramallah about where the company’s footwear goes and what it is made of. This is a summary of what he said; the original report is Wattan’s.

Where the pairs go

NABOLY is, in his words, a company that manufactures by Palestinian hands, at high quality and moderate cost. The split he gave was:

  • 40% exported abroad
  • 40% to the local market in the West Bank
  • 20% to Gaza

The export markets he named were Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Iraq, alongside sales inside the Green Line. He added that NABOLY had, at that point, been exporting to France for four years.

Where the leather comes from

The raw materials, he said, are 100% Palestinian: hides collected from Palestinian cities and villages and tanned in Palestinian tanneries. That is still how the factory works — the manufacturing page sets out the full chain, from hide to boxed pair.

If you are buying for a shop, the wholesale page is where to start, and the catalog shows every model in one place.
